There are more lithium battery brands in the fishing world these days than Bayer has aspirin. Some are excellent, others are average, and a few fall short. One brand I’ve had extensive experience with over the past couple of years—and believe truly delivers the complete package—is LiTime. From product quality and performance to marketing, packaging, and price, LiTime checks all the boxes.

Customer Feedback

Consumer response to LiTime has been overwhelmingly positive. I’ve actively looked for negative reviews or complaints, and so far, I haven’t found any. Of course, no product is perfect for everyone, but in both my personal experience and from what I’ve heard in the fishing community, the feedback has been nothing but praise.

This includes their battery chargers as well. I currently run a Power Pole Charge on one of my boats paired with a LiTime battery, but I’ve also installed LiTime’s 4-bank charger on another rig and will review that separately.

Performance in the Real World

I’m currently using the LiTime 36V 50Ah (actually 38.4V nominal) battery to power my Minn Kota trolling motor. I initially thought I might need a larger battery, but the 50Ah has proven to be more than sufficient. It’s efficient, recharges in under two hours, and delivers very clean power through a direct wiring harness to the trolling motor.

For those who like to get technical, I meter my batteries before and after use. The LiTime battery registers a full charge at 14.39V. Their Bluetooth app is a great tool for real-time monitoring, but I still like to confirm everything with a standard multimeter — it’s a good way to double-check and really understand what your battery is doing.

At a price of $419, the performance-to-value ratio is hard to beat.

Packaging That Impresses

Thursday July 17, 2025

When I received my first LiTime battery, the packaging blew me away. Heavy-duty foam surrounds the battery, and all documentation comes sealed in a waterproof bag. That may seem like a small detail, but to me, it speaks volumes about the company’s pride in their product. If they care that much about packaging, it usually means they care about what’s inside, too.

Reliability and Peace of Mind

Many lithium batteries I’ve tested tend to lose charge or go into sleep mode after sitting unused for a few days. Not this one. With my busy schedule, I often get on the water just once a week. Even after sitting idle, the voltage on the LiTime stays consistent. That kind of reliability is critical, especially when you’re out fishing all day and can’t afford power issues.

As fishing season ramps up, my confidence in this battery continues to grow. It’s proven to be dependable even during periods of infrequent use.
